Hello Songwriters!
I am excited to announce the soft launch of The Songwriting Community, a brand new platform for aspiring and seasoned songwriters featuring a discussion forum, social network, and learning portal.
I aspire to be a professional songwriter, and although I don’t have a huge catalog of songs, I’ve accomplished some things as an amateur songwriter including winning the Grand Prize in the Billboard® World Song Contest, signing a single song publishing contract with a Nashville publisher and having one of my songs recorded by a Star Search semi-finalist.
Following are some of the songs I’ve written in my catalog.
While I am proud of what I’ve accomplished, I am not a songwriting expert in any way. With The Songwriting Community, I hope to create a space where like-minded songwriters can come together to connect, learn and grow their songwriting craft.
Through my years of pursuing songwriting, I have been a member of numerous communities and organizations including ASCAP, Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), SongsAlive!, Global Songwriters, SongTown, SongChasers, Los Angeles Songwriters Collective (LASC) and the Chicago Songwriters Collective (CSC).
In my day job, I enjoy leading a marketing team of association marketing professionals responsible for creating engaging campaigns that help our members learn more about the organization, its programs, events, products and services. With more than 25 years of professional experience serving members and customers, I have always been a huge supporter of member or enthusiast-based organizations. I even helped start a fraternity at my alma mater, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I plan to bring the same fervor and dedication to creating a supportive environment here and hope The Songwriting Community becomes one of your favorite destinations online for songwriting connections, community, and education.
