Using AI in songwriting is a controversial topic. As a traditional, non-performing songwriter though, I think it has amazing potential. Now, I don’t mean using AI to actually write the song for me, but using AI to create a song demo. Typically, songwriters can spend easily $400-$600 per song for a producer or song demo service just to get a presentable version of their song that other artists can listen to for possible use in their upcoming recording projects. I posted elsewhere in the forum my first song demo for my song “More Than My Religion.” It is simply amazing. I can’t believe how much better it sounds than me just singing over a simple piano/vocal demo. And quite honestly, I don’t have the best voice in the world. So, it’s really a godsend to be able to hear somewhat of my vision come to life without having to pay the enormous fees that I paid before in the past to produce or to create the song demo for me.

I think the results speak for themselves. I am really excited about the prospect of being able to finally hear my songs that I can hear in my mind or my head that I haven’t been able to create before because I simply don’t have the budget to do a professional song demo for every song that I’ve ever written. So I’m very excited about the opportunities that AI are creating for traditional non-performing songwriters like myself.
